But starting or adapting an exercise routine later in life can feel daunting – especially when faced with new physical or emotional challenges. If you’re struggling with motivation, finding it hard to make time to exercise or just don’t know where to start, I can help.

I’m Sarah B, a qualified personal trainer based in the Eastern Algarve in Portugal. My aim is to make exercise and good nutrition accessible, enjoyable and effective for everyone – no matter your starting point, ability or confidence level. Together, we’ll build the strength, balance, flexibility and energy you need to live life fully, for longer.

This is supported by practical nutritional guidance, with a focus on simple, sustainable choices that support your goals while still letting you live your life!

I work with clients in person and remotely, at home and outdoors, one-on-one and in groups, so you can benefit from training wherever and however you feel most comfortable.

I also offer functional training for those looking to stay active in sports like netball, padel and golf, and can put you in touch with other exercise and well-being professionals – such as yoga practitioners or physios – to provide a holistic approach to your health.

How it works

The consultation

Before we start training, we start with a friendly consultation to understand your goals, health and fitness, lifestyle, diet and exercises preferences. I’ll also take some basic measurements – such as strength, mobility or fitness levels – to help track your progress over time.

Everyone’s different, so this ensures your plan is tailored to you and gives you space to ask questions and get a feel for how we’ll work together. Based on this, I’ll suggest clear, realistic fitness and nutrition goals and create a plan that fits your pace and your priorities.

The plan

Fitness is a long-term commitment, so I usually recommend starting with a 12-week plan, broken into shorter, progressive blocks. This is long enough to see initial, sustainable results but short enough to keep you motivated!

Of course, this isn’t right for everyone. Maybe you used to work out regularly and just need a few sessions to get back into it, or perhaps you’re nervous about exercise and want a couple of trial sessions to see how it feels. We’ll talk through that during your consultation, and I’ll create a programme that’s right for you.

In practice

There are two ways to train, depending on what suits you best: you can choose fully guided sessions, where I’m with you for every workout, supporting and coaching throughout; or a blended approach where we train together once or twice a week and you follow a personalised plan on your own on other days.

On-going support

Throughout your programme, we’ll check-in regularly to see how things are going and tweak your plan if needed. Near the end, we’ll have a more in-depth review and if you’d like to keep going, I’ll put together a new plan that matches your next goals.

Promotional prices

Package prices depend on the number of sessions, the balance of in person vs self-guided workouts and your location, with a limited-time promotional rate that works out at €20 – €35 per session. Typical face-to-face packages are shown below, but can be tailored to suit any needs.
